未使用長期保管品の既製の黒檀柄に猪牙掛けを施したものです。
サイズは全長36.1㎝、先端部2.6㎝×9㎜、柄尻縦2.5㎝×横1.9㎝の楕円形です。（先端部から1.6㎝程は猪牙掛けを施してありません。）
「猪牙（いのき）がけ」は、猪の牙表面のエナメル質で木材表面の導管を押しつぶしながら磨き上げることで木材が本来持つ色艶を引き出すことできる手法です。主に弓道の弓（和弓）を制作する際に用いられています。
